Author's first novel and scarce. Runner-up for the 1986 Betty Trask Award. Very slight evidence of damp stain to lower rear boards of book; one corner bumped. The dustwrapper has more marked damp stains to rear panel at top, middle and base; area of loss to lower rear corner of dustwrapper with black markings; orange lettering to spine partly faded.
