CHARTERIS Leslie Enter the Saint London Hodder and Stoughton 1930 Good Hardback A wonderful opportunity to buy early reprints of 12 Saint stories at one go. It would appear that all these copies have been read and re-read, with avid interest, no doubt, but have not been handled with loving care. They are therefore described with their faults: Enter the Saint (dated 1930) one page reattached/boards slightly rubbed; The Happy Highwayman (6th edition) owner's inscription/boards soiled; Getaway (4th Printing 1934) small gash to edge of rear board/2 pages reattached/hinge starting between pp32/3; The Last Hero (7th Printing 1939) corners bumped/cocked; Alias the Saint (dated 1933) front hinge starting/cocked; Featuring the Saint (dated 1932) spine reattached/boards faded/ page reattached; The Misfortunes of Mr Teal (8th Printing 1939) owner's inscription/cocked; single round stain to first few pages; The Bright Buccaneer (6th Printing 1938) cocked; floppy; She Was A Lady (8th Printing 1938) cocked; Saint Overboard (7th Printing 1938) cocked; fading to boards; The Saint Goes On (5th Printing 1937) cocked/corners softened. All are red cloth with black titles with the Hodder and Stoughton (H and S) motif to the upper board. All the red cloth boards are sunned or soiled (partially) in some way.
